Developing the rural environment

We advise a large number of country estates, farms and rural businesses.  Our Architects, Town Planning Consultants and Ecologists are experienced in handling proposals for agricultural development for viable agricultural buildings. In addition we have experience in a wide range of rural diversification projects, including:

  • Farm and mill building conversions for offices, leisure, restaurant, live-work, residential and equestrian uses
  • Rural leisure proposals ranging from equestrian to golf, and
  • Village housing - both open market and affordable.

Our clients range from major country estates such as the Grange Estate, Charborough Estate and Ilchester Estates, through large farming enterprises such as Vitacress and Humphrey Farms, to small farmers and rural enterprises. We have worked on rural planning and development projects across many counties of the UK.

We understand government, regional, and local planning policies for rural areas, and are familiar with Defra, NFU, British Horse Society and other guidance likely to be influential in both Local Authority and Planning Inspector decision making on matters such as building conversions and other rural development.
